Mother Mary Hand Carved Acacia Wood Mother Mary Christian Sculpture

This beautiful sculpture from Sarwaedi in Bali depicts the Virgin Mary, her arms outstretched in what is referred to by the Catholic Church as the Distribution of Graces. The statuette is carved from acacia wood in great detail, from her face to her toes. The cascading fold of her garments calls to mind the classical marble sculptures of ancient Greece.
